Meet Us
Susie Atvell
Susie Atvell, our owner and operator, has worked in hospitality since 1998. Inspired by the energy of a restaurant and those memorable moments that are hard to re-create, her focus is creating the ultimate guest experience through the leadership of her dedicated team. Her appreciation for the beauty and agricultural diversity of the Finger Lakes is what brings her to Geneva.
Max Spittler
As a Geneva native and Culinary Institute of America graduate, our Executive Chef Max Spittler, brings the best of the Finger Lakes and top of the line experience to our kitchen. From classic comfort food to upscale dishes, he is well-versed in the kitchen and loves to get creative with his team.
Brian Butterfield
Brian Butterfield, our bar director and certified sommelier, manages our extensive beverage program and wine list. His approach is to offer our guests seasonal and classic beverages that are thoughtful, interesting and well-made. Make sure you try one of his inventive cocktails!
Raleigh Strott
Our bar manager, Raleigh Strott, has fifteen years of experience in hospitality, and two years as a Finger Lakes transplant. Raleigh is a recent recipient of an AAS in viticulture and wine technology and exercises their passion for wine to steward the robust wine program at Kindred Fare. Raleigh strives to combine their knowledge of wine, the beautiful produce of the Finger Lakes, and their appetite for flavor to create cocktails in the spirit of The Spirited Cookery.
Ashley Coleman
Our General Manager Ashley is an experienced wine professional and hospitality specialist with over 10 years of experience in the industry. While studying Hospitality & Tourism in college, she completed an internship in the Finger Lakes Region and fell in love with its community. Prior to joining the team at Kindred Fare, she spent over 5 years working in the Finger Lakes wine industry. As service is her passion, she was excited to get back to her roots in the restaurant scene. Ashley has enjoyed working with the Kindred Fare team for the past few years and strives to continue providing an atmosphere for an incredible dining experience.
Ellen Quibell
Our assistant manager, Ellen, has over five years of experience in the hospitality industry. She spent three years working in the nonprofit sector after earning her political science degree from the University of Vermont. Shortly thereafter, she transitioned to the restaurant industry, focusing on fine dining in the bustling city of Portland, Maine.
After her time in Portland, Ellen returned to her hometown to share her business knowledge in the Finger Lakes region. She began her career in the wine industry, where she spent a year and earned her WSET Level One wine certification. However, her passion for the lively world of restaurants drew her back. Ellen is excited to bring her professional experience to Kindred Fare and is dedicated to providing guests with the best dining experience in the Finger Lakes.
